Parisian pop-jewelry label Yaz Bukey has just launched her Spring/Summer 2013 collection. The entire collection is done in the designer’s favorite material, Plexiglas. Named “Tropical Heat Wave” after the song “Heat Wave" performed by Marilyn Monroe in the film "There's No Business Like Show Business", the collection sprouted out of a fantasy about the 1960’s California that the designer had. She envisions a motley group of people who meet in a California motel. The designer says that she chose the song because it perfectly embodies the essence of the sex siren.

Since she feels that Marilyn was very clever, talented and one of the most beautiful people in the world, she fits in perfectly as the symbol of all humanity and becomes the perfect motif for the Technicolor collection. the collection boasts of cheeky and fun items like Elvis and Marilyn Monroe and pendants, printed foulards decked with phrases and fruity cocktails, a pink hair-dryer pin, key chains shaped like lipstick necklaces, studded collars and cat-eye sunglasses.

The collection also comprised of a few fun home accessories like the giant motel sign or guitar which can be placed in tables or hung on walls. Part rock and part funk, the collection also boasts of Yaz Bukey’s debut accessory line which features scarves and leather bags. The Tropical Heat Wave Collection can be purchased at select boutiques including 10 Corso Como, Joyce Hong Kong and Colette.
