Nicholas Kirkwood is known for his creative shoe designs. From his outrageous silhouettes to his choice of exotic colors, nothing about his collection is ordinary and his new Spring 2013 collection is about as subtle as a gun. An eclectic chromatic line, the collection boasts of innovative silhouette experiments with adventurous architectural high steppers, sixties-inspired heels and demure flats. Keeping close to what his audience expects of him, Kirkwood presented a number of stunning sky high heels in wild patterns and crazy colors. The designer says that the collection is inspired by waves which is a very nice interpretation for the multiple level heels in his collection.

Mirrored resin heels, the snakeskin gladiator sandals continue the oceanic theme and substituted typical straps with a rippling wave like pattern and twirling baroque shapes. The collection appeared to be distinctly more fluid and feminine with materials like suede and metallic leather being used to create the sandals and pumps. The shoes in the collection were also offered in bright colors including yellow, orange and electric blue that were accented with a range of rainbow colors as well. Designed to make a statement on their own instead of serving as mere accessories to an ensemble, the shoes in the Nicholas Kirkwood Spring 2013 collection are nothing if not stunning. The entire collection is available for purchase in stores like Nicholas Kirkwood, Saks Fifth Avenue, Barneys New York and Bergdorf Goodman.
