Tom Ford presents his Spring/Summer 2013 collection privately at LFW

Tom Ford took fashion shows to the height of exclusivity when he stopped inviting the media to his runway events two years ago. The designer, who is also somewhat notorious for not letting out so much as a peep till his collections hit stores, has released a handful of images depicting ensembles from his Spring/Summer 2013 collection. Ford ensured that the private viewing remained an entirely wordless affair though he did concede that his latest collection was built around the synonymical aesthetics of chastity and perversity. Ford himself deems too much of chastity as boring but considers it an essential virtue that everyone should possess.

His clothes too showed his inclination for the virtue wiz taffeta column dresses made of black paper and featuring long high necks, taupe skirts and camel cashmere sweaters. However, not one to shun perversity entirely, Ford brought his darker side into play via bondage sandal-boots, multi buckled leather strap, caped backs and zip pencil skirts made of black patent leather. Among the more notable items in the collection were fitted black backless chiffon dresses with cupped breasts, stretchy pants that were cropped at the knee to resemble cycling shorts and a silk jersey hoodie paired with a beaded skirt. As usual, Ford allows his audience to find the balance between their naughty and nice sides themselves.
