No one really knows who brought stripes to mainstream fashion the first time but the trend has been one of the most versatile ones. Reappearing every few seasons, stripes have become something of a fashion staple for most fashionistas and celebrities. Even though the classic striped t-shirt has never really gone out of fashion, black and white stripes have made a grand comeback with maxi dresses and mini dresses in the pattern being worn by Hollywood beauties on the red carpet as well as on the street.
Pairing a striped t-shirt with a jacket or cardigan is a time tested fashion classic and can be worked to perfection when paired with a jacket, jeans, trousers, maxi or pencil skirts and cardigans. One of the most refreshing twists on the striped dress trend to have been patronized by celebrities recently has been dresses in multi colored stripes that are vibrant and very hard to get wrong.
Even though striped dresses generally do not need to be accessorized, celebrities have been seen wearing bright bold belts with simpler stripes though a more low-key look can be achieved by pairing a bold striped outfit with a thinner belt in a complimenting shade. Over the summer, the horizontal stripe trend was a big hit internationally though some of the glamorous ladies also made the trend their own by wearing vertical and slanted stripes in all kinds of colors.
