For many women, a tux jacket can be just as desirable as an evening dress. It instills the aura of sophistication and class to the persona of every woman. If you are someone who prefer tasteful jackets to express your femininity and distinct style, try this DIY project. Follow the directions to convert a simple white blazer into a stylish tux.

Difficulty level
Moderate
Time required
A couple of hours, depending on the skill of the person.
Resources required
a. Trace the collar and lapel
Place your blazer on a flat surface. Trace the outline of the inside of the collar and the lapel using the parchment paper as the base. Add an extra ΒΌ inch border around every piece, so that when you hem it later, it looks neat. Cut out the drawing.
b. Creating the chic collar and lapels
Attach the paper designs to the black cotton sateen fabric with the pins. Follow the design to cut out two lapels and two collar pieces with the fabric scissors. Wrap the edges with fabric glue to make a hem for a finished look. Another dose of fabric glue will ensure each piece is stuck firmly to its designated place. Apply pressure to all the pieces to be certain that they are fastened to the blazer.
c. The tissue in the pocket square
Most refined jackets have a tissue tucked into the pocket square. The size of the fabric will depend on the pocket square and the shape of the fabric. For the project, cut out approximately a 5 inch square piece from the same fabric. Glue the outside edge like before you did for the hem. Now, work to form a folded up handkerchief from the piece by pinching and folding the fabric. Stitch it directly onto the blazer as a faux handkerchief that gives the jacket a classic appeal. It is best to use a corresponding thread so that the stitching is not noticeable.
d. Change the buttons
Replace the existing buttons with the fancy ones.

Tips
You can get creative by mixing patterns and choosing bold colors for the fabric.
