Paula Abdul is a dancer, choreographer, celebrity and reality show hosts. She came back to fame with American idol, but left later due to some issues with the show organizers. Paula now hosts the reality show The X Factor. She definitely knows how to actually fit into the highlighted persons list. She carried this Pepsi handbag to the red carpet of US X factor conference in LA. It definitely looks like Paula is accessorizing herself with Pepsi. Dressed in a soft Louis Verdad white suit with gold pinstripes, Paula made sure to flash her bedazzled Pepsi can purse before the camera. She walked the red carpet with the subtly plugged Pepsi purse.

Paula designed this purse. Before designing she would have thought of creating space constraints and changing the mindset of ladies to switch of big hobo bags to canned purses like this Pepsi one. However, the crystals and gold dangler combination is not so comfortable to eyes.
Why did she carry it to press conference?
Paula is definitely making a marketing marvel and sponsorship too matters a lot for any show. Paula carried this purse to the press conference to promote her show The X Factor, thereby giving a tough competition to its rival show American Idol sponsored by Coca Cola. Notably, Paula was once a part of American Idol show.

Well the purse doesn’t look that hideous. Paula would have actually used it as an accessory for flaunting purpose only. We may include the purse into the cute category if we look at the size and the shape. Paula while carrying this purse would have thought of spicing up her rather okay dress with this piece. But if we actually talk about the utility of this purse then there is actually no space left for ladies to carry their knick knacks. Space available would be enough to carry a lipstick only.

The Purse was of the shape of the can with golden danglers attached on the top. The entire body was decorated with crystals with the matching color of the can in blue red and white. So creative and imaginative piece of its own.

Pepsi is a sponsor of the show and perhaps they gifted Paula (or may be paid her to carry) the personalized soda can purse of her dreams. As a major sponsored Brand of the show (that Paula hosts), definitely branding and promotion is required to beat their competitors. To be in Page 3 pics with celebrities and all Pepsi would have actually thought of doing a promotion of this type. Really a great idea for branding and promotion.
Custom made or available in market?
The Purse was only meant for promotion of the brand of the show and isn’t available in market. But if somebody really wants to have this piece then it’s better to get in touch with a bag designer. May be they can help.In fact, creating one similar piece for yourself would not be a difficult task. One can easily get a Pepsi can from any store and attach it to the silver or golden chains or strings available in the market. However, you need to have the guts to carry it with yourself anywhere. The size may also make the decision difficult for you as it won't be able to handle many of your belongings.
Would it spark off a new trend?
Now, that's what we call brand commitment! The Purse has already got mixed reviews from fashionistas. Some have tagged it as hilarious and some as a bad accessory. We cannot say that a trend has been set, but yes Paula has definitely showed her brand commitment by flashing this purse on the red carpet.
A hit or a miss?
Talking about the style, it’s surely a miss, but if we talk about the hit then the amount of reviews and news it has created among viewers and readers really makes it to the hit section. As a marketing strategy it has surely earned reviews from the critics, but as a fashion piece it has not been able to marvel the fashionistas in tinsel town.
