White socks are only meant for school boys and athletes and if, you are neither of the two and still own too many of the whities, the fashion police will be out to get you.
Socks - a trivial detail, makes a lot of difference to the overall ensemble. They essentially have to be matched with pants and white rarely compliments any outfit. Formal pants, khakis and jeans - all are best worn with socks in varied tones of black, blue and gray.
White socks look good only with white pants and no wardrobe has more than a couple of them, I bet. So why should anybody have a drawer full of white socks? And to add to the woes, stains on white socks can be traumatic. So, next time you go shopping, don’t even look at white socks, even if the pack of three is on discount.
