The world's largest retailer - Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will not be participating in the New York's upcoming Fashion Week starting from February 2.

'We just elected not to show our collections at that venue,'
said Wal-Mart spokeswoman Linda Blakley.
Wal-Mart decided to distance itself from the bi-annual event as despite an active participation since the last three times, the sales figure didn't seem to improve at all.were not much benefited after
Blakley announced that instead of showcasing its Metro 7 collection at the New York fashion week, they would rather show the collection to fashion editors in New York.
Wal-Mart has been participating in the popular fashion event since September 2005, when it famously held its fashion show in a Times Square studio that could be viewed by pedestrians.
Despite an enthusiastic participation, every time, Walmart has never been able to lure shoppers to buy trendier clothing.
Wall-Mart is not even sure of participating in the September's Fashion Week.
