Every year, millions of men and women wait for the lavish Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show where the brand and its designers showcase elaborate lingerie in forms of costumes. What makes this fashion show even more desirable is the set of models called ‘Angels’ who set the stage on fire along with leading entertainers and the runway designed in various themes. The backstage secret
The whole adrenaline rush at the backstage has become synonym with the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show. Each year, 20 to 40 best models are selected to perform at the show while half a dozen of them titled as ‘Victoria’s Secret Angels’ are the special ones. This year was no different, where the models were racked up backstage and transformed in angels. It was a sight to watch Miranda Kerr transforming into a million dollar beauty. The supermodel had missed the ramp last year while she was pregnant, but this year she came back with a bang. At backstage, Miranda Kerr still managed to look beautiful even before any makeup had been applied. Even with her hair undone, this beauty looked stunning. Minutes later, she put the ramp on fire with her diamond studded blue colored lingerie. Adriana Lima also appeared at ease backstage. Her liquid diet must have worked because this beauty looked sizzling while dressing up in ultimate black and red lace lingerie. Alessandra Ambrosio had to struggle a little as she tried to put up a 30lb wing on her back. For this wing, she had to strengthen her back because of the huge weight and size, but it was all worth the weight as she too appeared absolutely attractive on stage.
The rockstar performances
This year, Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was all about men, particularly Adam Levine, the front man of the band Maroon 5, who received a chance to perform during the event. His performance was great with songs like Jagger prompting the audiences and models to sway. But this singer had his eyes set on girlfriend Anne Vyalistsyna who was walking the ramp for Victoria’s Secret. This model’s elegance personified in her blue lingerie that kept Adam distracted throughout the performance. But it all appeared beautiful as both of them walked hand in hand and Adam kissed his girlfriend at the end of the performance. Kanye West and Jay-Z also took the audience by the storm as they played with their best tunes. Pregnant Beyonce was also among the audience, absolutely flattered by her partner Jay-Z’s performance on stage. Nicki Minaj also managed to create a stir in her bright orange bustier, cosmic print skirt coupled with a wonderful song. But overall, all the star performances were by the boys.
The runway drama
It was a treat to watch Adriana Lima sizzle the stage with her ravishing lingerie. Her killer smile along with red and black lace lingerie with high sheer stockings and black heels set the stage on fire. Her superwoman avatar was also elegant. This 30-year-old beauty had set the hearts pounding. The purple and black feathers showstopper outfit was beautiful and it made this model appear even prettier. Alessandra Ambrosio walked like a princess in her 30lb wings. She looked like a fairytale princess straight out of a storybook. Her ‘Passion Play’ fan wings stole the limelight this year. These wings took seven months of hard work and 105000 Swarovski crystals and 23 carat gold. But everyone including Orlando Bloom had their eyes set on Miranda Kerr, the beauty who revisited the ramp this year. She looked gorgeous, enchanting and attractive; surely, pregnancy and child birth had added to her charm. She also presented the fantasy bra which made husband Bloom rise proudly from his seat for a standing ovation.
The fantasy bra
Miranda Kerr made her comeback as the star of show as she shimmied in the $2.5 million diamond studded bra. She herself looked worth million dollars as she confidently walked across the ramp in her ice-peacock look, beautiful blue heels and of course the fantasy bra. This bra was revealed a few days before the event and has diamonds studded over the blue lingerie. Miranda Kerr waved across to the fans as she glittered in those peacock wings. Surely, she was a treat to watch.
The traditional pink robe
Victoria’s Secret is famous for its limited edition of Pink robe that is a favorite amongst the audience and buyers. This year, Lindsay Ellingson carried out the hot pink robe with crystal wings in an elegant avatar. The traditional pink robe was in hot pink this year and looked totally sexy. The robe glittered all around the ramp and was appreciated by many.
