People Tree helps small producers in third world communities around the world providing Fair Trade as a means from destitution.

The exclusive Topshop range will include handknitted accessories created at Kumbeshwar Technical School (KTS) in Nepal.

The Nepal based school helps disadvantaged people including disabled or homeless women, ex-prostitutes, widows and female prisoners by providing training and employment. Fair trade orders will not only provide the women with an income but also benefit the community.

Laxmi Shova, a knitter at KTS who visited London, said, 'I am very excited to visit UK and see our products in big stores like Topshop. We feel very proud that our products are selling in such a shop. For people like me in Kathmandu and the surrounding villages, People Tree has helped us more than double our income. Fair Trade empowers me, my family, my colleagues and grass-roots women producers in my country, both economically and socially, and means we can educate ourselves and our children.'

The accessories will also be on sale in Oxfam nationwide and the Regent Street Timberland store in London.
