Francisco Costa, Thom Browne and Tom Binns are the official top fashion designers of the year, declared by Council of Fashion Designers of America awards.
Costa was titled womenswear designer of the year, three years after doing creatives at Calvin Klein. He outshined nominees like Marc Jacobs, Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough.
Browne was selected for menswear designer category. He won over the famous Alexandre Plokhov and Ralph Lauren
Binns bagged the award for accessory design. The jewelry designer surpassed Jacobs and Michael Kors.
The rest of the awards went to a mix of fashion industry icons, including photographer Bruce Weber, Joan Kaner, CFDA president Stan Herman, Doo-ri Chung for emerging talent in womenswear, Devi Kroell for accessories and Jeff Halmos, Josia Lamberto-Egan, Sam Shipley and John Whitledge of Trovata for menswear.
