I don’t believe somebody actually thought if this, and devoted time and energy to design and manufacture The T-shirt that Sweats!

I am sure you have, more than once, come across rowdy boys drenched in sweat after a rough game, and looking super-proud about it. Sweat is often considered masculine, and even sexy. Girls, who would never like sweating themselves, often like it on boys. Jerseys worn by and wet with sweat of spots-stars sell for hundreds of dollars. Strange, but true.
Designer Mariana Rivera plays on this very concept. The T-Shirt That Sweats is meant to establish an intimate contact between the football fan who missed going to the field to cheer his favorite team, and the ongoing excitement in the field. And how? Listen to this.
The T-Shirt actually ‘sweats’ while the football fan watches the game on TV, to create an atmosphere of excitement. Let me tell you how it works: a microphone captures the sound signals coming from the TV set which are filtered using a microcontroller. When the sound goes beyond a certain level, a water pump hidden inside the garment wets the t-shirt.
I am just dumbstruck. Honestly. This is downright gross. Surely there are more pleasant ways of expressing your excitement and enthusiasm! And who sweats while watching a football match anyway? Why not leave sweating to the ones who are playing? Why this desperate attempt to make sweating, embarrassing in itself and meant to be concealed, a fashion statement?
