Ever sprained an ankle on a pair of super-glam and murderously high stilettos? If yes, then you might really sympathize with shoe designer Jil Sanders for trying to make the dangerous heels safer for starry-eyed gold-diggers. Using a system of strategically placed beams and girders, Sanders ensures that your champagne/vodka fueled swagger does not end up on the wrong side of a (hospital) bed. With a support mechanism that would do even the best of architects working on quake-proofing skyscrapers proud, this super-shoe actually takes the modest footwear into the future. We’re looking forward to more shoe “inventions” from this talented designer and hope she comes up with those jet-propelled pumps soon enough!
