From city streets to bling parties, increasing number of people are indulging in the stylish shade of parasols to shelter themselves from the heat of the sun's damaging rays.

There is a very thin line between an umbrella and a parasol. While the former is designed for protection against rain, the latter works as a portable shade-producing sunblocker.

Parasols had faded away from the fashion scene during 1930's when fashion demanded for women to show off their tans, but now, they are back with a bang.

With parasols coming in lovely, attractive patterns, the ones in lace, paper and fringed are selling like hot cakes.

Now, with warnings about ultraviolet rays and the irreversible damage caused by sun exposure, fashion-conscious women are increasingly scouting for parasols in specialty shops and online stores for that perfect parasol.
