A living fish dangling on my neck sure gives me the creeps and I would love to avoid what teenage girls in China’s Chengdu city are obsessed with! Live fish packed in sealed containers with water, fish food and two balls filled with oxygen serve as a fish pendant with a life span of about three months. After a quarter of the year passes these pendants are broken and the fish is released in the pond. The pendants are either worn as necklaces or as ornaments studded on bags and even keychains! As much fun the fashionistas seem to be having with this trend, the marine biologists are flabbergasted and want it banned instantly!
