Looks like its raining nudes this summer and every Hollywood celebrity has draped herself in this shade. This was evident yesterday at the MET Ball 2011. Dedicated to Alexander McQueen, the legendary designer of British origin, this gala had one trend written all over it: the subtle and suave nude shade.
What has really made it a rage amongst the fashion-conscious is its neutral nature, which works for all types of skin shades. It does not take a fashionista to understand the reason for its popularity. It gives the illusion of being naked while being clothed, which is quite incredible. One can experiment with multiple looks in this color and almost anyone can wear it.
One can juxtapose nude shades with a plethora of glimmering accessories, which would make them look fabulous. Sarah Jessica Parker, with her glittering archival Alexander McQueen piece, made an outstanding impression. Depending on the intensity of nude, it can look from good to ravishing on a very pale skin or tan skin tone. Salma Hayek also generated appreciation for her frothy nude McQueen dress. Dakota Fanning in a highly accentuated Valentino gown demonstrated the extent to which we can experiment with nude hues. She looks stunning and, of course, different from the pack. Embellished nude gowns and tulle gowns made quite a few heads turn at this red carpet event. Have a look at Naomi Watts who looked ravishing in her Stella McCartney piece as trendy Jessica Stam appeared in her chirpy tulle gown.
Thinking on more conservative lines, nude goes best with black. However, the more rebellious celebrities are not afraid of trying it with brighter colors like red, which is quite an outrageous, but interesting option. Going by their history, nude pumps are also a must-have commodity. They are timeless, do not cost a bomb and help your legs look leaner and longer. Angelina Jolie wore them for the premiere of ‘Salt’, Kim Kardashian swears by them, and Victoria Beckham just loves to wear them all the time. Besides the clothes, nude faces are also in vogue this season. Instead of painting your face with make up, try to go for a refreshing nude look. You would certainly earn the envy of many others.
