She has just turned 13 and she's already created quite a rage at the Australian fashion scene, claiming both positive and negative attention.

Maddison Gabriel is the official ambassador of the Gold Coast Fashion Week in Australia and the startling fact is that the girl just turned 13 yesterday. All of 5ft 7 inches, the blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl even paraded in a number of revealing outfits at the event. While this act of hers got immediate positive response from the fashion world, it even attracted some harsh criticisms from other quarters.
Australian Prime Minister John Howard sternly disagreed with this decision and labeled it as unacceptable. He said:
Catapulting girls as young as 12 into something like that is outrageous.
Giving example of the European fashion world, where the minimum age for a model is 16 years, the Prime Minister further added:
There should be age limits, I mean there has to be, we do have to preserve some notion of innocence in our society.
Meanwhile, Maddison and her family totally disagree with the Prime Minister's statement, with Maddison's mother even demanding an apology from the Prime Minister. Maddison, who got selected as a result of a tough modelling competition, defends herself very diplomatically. She said:
I believe that I can fit into women's clothes. I can model women's clothes, so I should be able to do it. It doesn't matter about age, it matters that you can do the job. Modelling is all I've wanted to do since I was six - I don't think I'm too young.
Now, this is what we call a tedious situation.
