Irrespective of the slight nip in the air, it’s a must-have in every girl’s wardrobe! International designers like Dolce & Gabbana, Christian Dior, Chanel and many others have created a collage of lacy garments for their new collection, but what makes this design popular is the antiquity that it brings to the wearer.

Lace has now made its way into almost all reputed designer’s collections. In fact, for the Fall-Winter 2010, lace was the key look in most international designers’ collection and Dolce & Gabbana went on to

create their Spring-Summer collection in white lace with chiffon fabric.

Colors and silhouettes are two vital perspectives to be kept in mind. For example, for a cute look, team powdered pink or white nude skin tones in shift, ballerina or even straight dresses. For a sexy look, a dark tone such as black, blue or even silver in layers is a good idea.

Lace, when used plainly, is eye-catching. Sheer, when combined with lace, is more stylish than the plain old lace and the effect is a very pleasant one. The lace and sheer combo is a recent development and it works best on maxi dresses in a variety of colours. In fact, floral and cutwork lace has also been in trend.

Lace with a blend of sheer and netted fabrics has been revolutionsed by Dolce & Gabbana in their next collection.Of late, lace has been restructured to form myriad patterns with various combinations of sheer, tassles or even sewed on a regular tee.

Be it a simple lace hemming, on the sleeves or even lacework on the neckline, need we say, it’s time to lace up this season.
