Kiera Knightley succeeds Kate Moss as the newest face of the French fashion house Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle perfume. Knightley will appear in print and TV ads for the fragrance in 2007.

Knightley, now joins Nicole Kidman, Catherine Deneuve and Johnny Depp's paramour, Vanessa Paradis, in the league of Chanel girls.

The terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but the British media has valued the contract at upwards of $1 million.

Chanel claims that there are no hard feelings for Kate Moss and that the succession of spokesbabes was a business decision, not influenced by Moss' troubled year.

The brand's artistic director, Jacques Helleu, mentioned, 'Keira's elegance, beauty and modernity are but a few of the qualities that parallel the iconic faces featured in legendary Chanel fragrance campaigns.'
