Joy Stevens: A bride with a difference!

We all have heard that 'Pairs are made in heaven' but for Joy Stevens (72, retired local magistrate) this has actually come true. Yes, this pretty never been married before lady has finally found her soul mate whom she met through The Daily Telegraph's Kindred Spirits column. Now Stevens is planning for a winter wedding - a wedding with a difference, as we say it, for she is working for a totally new image for her new life ahead. After her partner of 10 years died in 1985 she had been leady a solitary life. She says:

Friends tried to get me interested in meeting 'likely chaps', but many of them were just looking for a cook or a nurse. There was never a 'wow' factor," she says. "By the time I reached 71, I'd become reconciled to being a spinster, with the obligatory cats, for ever.

Then, in February, being constantly coaxed by her friend she just happened to go through the Kindred Spirits column in her weekend paper and was intrigued by an entry from a Scottish widower of 65 and they both clicked on their fist date itself.

Now as the wedding bells are about to ring soon, finding a bridal outfit for a winter's day, something special for their honeymoon in the New Year seems to be the biggest challenge for that 'wow' factor. Joy is a mood to experiment with flattering shapes, some bold colors, functional accessories and a sequined dress. And along with this make-up artist Dirk Neuhoefer is all set to give a new look as well. We wish her all the best for her new life ahead. Have a look at this pretty lady ageing gracefully!
