Jean Paul Gaultier took whole of the fashion fraternity on a pirate ride with his Spring/Summer '08 collection. The whole collection was based on a pirate theme and each attire had an inspiration from Captain Jack Sparrow. No wonders, Johnny Depp is the coolest dude to be around and all of us ladies just love and admire him so much that we won't at all mind getting into his shoes and clothes.

The color palette had colors like green, brown, black, blue with hints of brighter colors at the outlines. Also, the collection had a pirate bride feature which had colors like white and beige. Camouflage was a big business on the ramps and sporty cuts in a chic style made a mark in everything from breeches to loose waist coats, to skirts, hats, bags and shoes. Huge belts, leather accessories and even ties made a mark. It almost seemed that everyone was back in the era of pirates. The bride feature was all lacy and there was a huge transparency factor involved as opposed to the rest of the clothing. Layering was another trend that was revived as if you notice we haven't seen much of layering in the fashion weeks, which actually made me, suspect that the trend was going out. The collection may not be wearable but it was genuinely outstanding.
