It is good news for Indian fashion industry. But I am sure this news will spark fire of jealousy among other fashion designers who did not get chance to show their work on such reputed fashion show. First time The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) announced that Anamika Khanna, along with Manish Arora will represent India in Paris Fashion Week. The Paris Fashion Week is going to start on September 30, 2007 and it will last up to 7th October this year.

The FDCI is exploring and leveraging its association with international Fashion Councils and this is very beneficial for all deginers who are its members. The motto of the association is to support and nurture the growth of the Indian fashion fraternity.
This is the first time Indian designers are participating independently under their own labels in such kind of global fashion event. Rathi Vinay Jha, Director General, FDCIsaid, 'Anamika is a talented designer and we are extremely proud of the fact that she along with Manish Arora will be the first Indian designers to make a mark at a prestigious platform like the Paris Fashion Week."
Anamika Khanna has expressed her joy and excitement on selection by saying, 'The international fashion market is taking Indian fashion and its designers seriously. My selection to participate at The Paris Fashion Week is a pleasant surprise, I am over-joyed yet nervous."
Any way lets wish for their successful trip to Paris! I think they will not let the Indians down , as our respectable Indian Cricket team has done recently in world cup.
