German fashionhouse Hugo Boss is considering launching a jewellery collection - possibly through an acquisition.
In addition to its top-end clothing, the group already produces its own line of shoes and accessories and offers spectacles, perfumes and underwear under the company logo.
But Saelzer, the company's official spokesperson went on to say, 'We don't have a current project,' with the group weighing up the possibility of a takeover as part of a move into the jewellery business.
The Hugo Boss chief confirmed the key role played by the fast- moving economies of China and Russia in facilitating the company's growth, especially in menswear sales.
