
The annual Costume Institute Gala, an event known all over the world, for celebrities in their dazzling dresses, paying tributes to the most happening and elite fashion legends was finally here. And this year all of them paid tribute to Paul Poiret, an artist, better known as France's "King of Fashion" before World War I. the event was held at the Manhattan's Metropolitan Opera House


Paul is the man who took women out of the corsets and put them in pants. He also introduced colored stockings. The event was attended by a galaxy of stars, like Scarlett Johansson and designer Stella McCartney, Mick Jagger and his girlfriend L'Wren Scott dressed in black, Cameron Diaz, who was wearing a maroon dress.


Cate Blanchett looked absolutely classic in a golden full-length gown. Pregnant Salma Hayek came arm in arm with her partner Francois-Henri Pinault and Naomi Watts, another pregnant lady, was spotted with her beau, Liev Schreiber. Surprisingly, instead of the Lindsay-cocaine rumors, Lindsay Lohan was present. Kate Bosworth looked fabulous too. Designer Donatella Versace posed with Hilary Swank, her celebrity friend, and both of them were looking stunning.
