A study published in the journal Hormones and Behavior says that females tend to dress up more smartly when they are ovulating.

This behavior is observed in women as they naturally try to attract a mate.

'They tend to put on skirts instead of pants, show more skin and generally dress more fashionably,' said study coauthor Martie Haselton, an associate professor of communication studies and psychology at UCLA.

The researchers closely observed thirty female college goers over the period of a month without revealing the true nature of the study. Each was photographed when she was fertile, as determined by a urine test, and when she was not.

In earlier studies, it has been revealed that females try to flirt with males other than their mates while they are ovulating.
