Italian fashion designer Gianfranco Ferre is hospitalised following a brain haemorrhage and is in a serious condition.
Italian news agency Ansa has reported that the 62-year-old fashion icon is in intensive care unit at the San Raffaele hospital in Milan. According to sources close to Ferre, he fell ill on Friday and was taken to hospital after his condition deteriorated overnight.
Ferre enjoys an iconic status in the fashion world and has received the prestigious Italian fashion award 'L'Occhio d'Oro' on multiple occasions.
He stepped into the fashion scene in the 1970s and became a craze when he introduced his fashion label, Baila. He has even worked as stylistic director at Christian Dior in Paris from 1989 to 1997.
