Stripes can be fun and exciting to wear and can give a French nautical look to everyday outfits. The spring/summer 2011 fashion shows have seen a huge trend of these nautical stripes. Stripes, however, can be daunting as they are bold and a little tricky to carry – horizontal stripes can make you look wider than you actually are. There are few ways in which you can team the stripes and dress up according to the trend.
If you have never tried stripes, go for pinstripes first as they are easy to carry. These strips can be teamed with shorts or trousers and can be worn on any occasion. They are a day-to-night look – apt for a casual day out or a business meeting.
There are numerous options available with stripes, you can wear them with bold color bottoms or wear a striped skirt with a plain top. You can also team any stripe top with jeans – a classic pairing. Small stripes can never make you look wider, but to wear bold horizontal stripe you must have a sexy figure.
