Catching up with Donna Karan's collection was one awesome thing I did! My enthusiasm for NFW has increased since I have seen this collection. The color palette basically had colors like beige, earthly tones of brown, blue, white, ivory and even yellow.
The collection was subtle and nice. The dresses were well tailored and at the same time had a cool flow to them. Sheer, transparent fabrics were used in abundance and even satin made an appearance. Collars, slim skirts, minis, powerful suits, shirt dresses were common on the ramp. A red strapless gown made a dazzling appearance and I am sure it was the apple of the eye for the evening.
Karan who is known for her feminine, chic, soft looks made a contradictory but successful statement this time. Criss cross backs, shrugs were put up to match the style and add a sensual appeal to the collection on a whole. No wonders, even this collection was chic but was indeed a stiffer one. Belts were another important feature of the collection and elements like lace were revived. The collection had a very formal format with a lot of attitude and stylish cuts making it complete in it.
