As you guys all know by now, clogs are back with a bang. And if worn right, I think the look can be very appealing. They obtain trendy status in the Flower-Power era and have now reinvented themselves as high street fashion.
Hollywood celebrities like Miley Cyrus, Lindsay Lohan and the Olsen sisters have embraced the fad with open arms and it has also received nods on fashion ramps across the world with designers like Jimmy Choo and Roberto Cavalli incorporating clogs in their lines. Increasingly, fashionistas in the city are now sporting them too
"Clogs are making their way back into the avenue of style from the 1970s," announces designer Rocky S, "They are comfortable, trusty shoes and can be easily slipped on thanks to the open back. What is great about clogs is that you are not limited to wearing them in certain seasons. They can be worn year round."
Clogs may not be practical and can be highly uncomfortable. But, they are an evergreen trend. Even my mother has a pair stashed away in her closet.
A lot depends on how you wear your clothes. Clogs are infamous for being ugly but when teamed up with a nice denim shirt, a pair of tights, a classy belt, sunglasses and the perfect bag, they can look very striking
Clogs can be very aesthetically pleasing when worn with the right outfit, but they can be a disaster otherwise!
Not everyone can carry them off. Unlike with stilettos go with almost everything, one has to be very careful with clogs. I have friends who detest them and others who can't live without them.
