Created by NYTO Studios, the American Comfort Quilt takes brand obsession to the next level. Produced in a limited series of five, the handmade art piece features 58 logos of iconic mass-market retailers, fast food chains and other corporations that represent contemporary North American trends to the tee. The quilt seeks to examine the delicate relation non-Americans have with the symbols of Americanism and their hold over other world cultures.

As multinational corporations seek to shape our social identities and personas through advertising and product placement, brands become a sort of a cultural heritage and that’s where this quilt steps in allowing the otherwise hated mass brands be used as a comforting item!
