A lot of times, i have been asked as to how to make a bag or a purse out of a pair of jeans? The idea of making a booty bag from a pair of jeans or a pair of shorts is a very cool and chic idea. And the bag that is made out of a pair of jeans is known as a 'booty bag'. This bag, by default has a number of pockets, which are actually the jeans pockets. Thus there is space for holding a lot of things.

Procedure
1. Cut the jeans
Lay the jeans on a flat surface, preferably on a table top. Then cut off the leg portion by using a pair of scissors. The cutting should be such that you are not cutting the region that is very close to the pocket. Be careful in the cutting procedure because cutting a little less is better than cutting a little extra because you can always cut more later according to the requirement.
2. Cut the shape
If you want to make the purse in such a manner that it has a flat bottom, then cut in a straight line. In case you want some other shape in the bottom, then cut accordingly. You might want to have a curvy or a V- shaped bottom, so cut accordingly. What you do on one side has to be repeated on the other side also.
3. Sew the bottom
Once the cutting is over, then stitch the open area. The shape should be kept in mind while you are stitching. While you are stitching, start the process by using a medium-sized needle. While stitching, be careful when you reach the seams. If the seams are very hard, then you might break the needle; so be careful while you are doing it. Be very slow, when you are in the thick seams, or hand crank some part.
The stitching will have to be strong because depending upon the quality of the stitching, the weight that the bag can carry will be decided. So stronger the stitching, the better it is for the longevity of the bag.
4. Make the handle
The next step is to make the handle. For making the handle, first you will have to make the handle lace. The handle lace should also be such that it fits into the buckles of the original jeans. Thus the choice of lace is also very important. The length and the width of the lace will be decided after the width and loops of the jeans have been measured. Once the lace has been made, attach it to the bag.
Your bag is ready!
A. If you do not want to throw the cut out part of the jeans, then my advice is to make patches out of it. These patches of different length can then be attached to the bag.
2. The choice of belt is very important. It will give the real look to the bag, so spend a lot of time choosing the belt that you want to attach.
3. You can also use a scarf instead of a belt for a more girly look.
