The public has always known that tattoos were not vegan friendly. Tattoo ink has always been known to mankind to be made of animal bone ashes which are burnt to charcoal and the chemical solution comprises of glycerin from animal fat or also from the shellac of the female lac bugs. Beeswax and lanolin are also used which is not vegan. A person who is vegan would not think of getting a tattoo which consists of this stuff. A tattoo was normally considered non vegetarian and non eco friendly. They were not considered healthy and safe. Apparently, the FDA (food and drug administration) has also not acclaimed to the use of tattoo ink which is actually industrially used printer ink being injected into the skin.

Now there are numerous artists who have emerged and are designing vegan tattoos. Beautiful tattoos which are safe to have on your body. Artist Brad Stevens from Fun City Tattoo and Daredevil Tattoo in New York City has been a vegan tattoo artist for about four years now. In a conversation with Planet Green, Brad explains how he came about making vegan tattoos. He names a couple of other vegan tattoo artists like Seth Wood, Danielle DiStefano, Marina Inoue and many more.
If you want to feel safe then the best thing to do is to try out vegan tattoos, they are permanent and are definitely not going to harm the skin. Neither do they have any side effects. A lot of people would wonder why suddenly this has come about. It is because most of us are not aware that the tattoo ink could be made vegetarian and absolutely free of animal ingredients.
