Fashion designers are always on the lookout for discovering the next big fashion trend and tend to cough out some very chalky stuff in the process. One such (failed) attempt at greatness would have to be the gory bowtie designs of Parisian designer Alexis Mabille. Oversized, over-embellished, over-stripy, and over-floral, the fanciful bow ties really flush all of Mabille’s hard-earned reputation as a custom jeweler for hot labels like John Galliano and Hedi Slimane at Dior and Dior Homme down the loo with one careless extravagant flourish of his fancy. The supposedly unisex ties from his Treizeor collection deserve a place in the fashion mags but the chances of them making it out in the real fashion-conscious circles are as slim as size 14 becoming the new size 0.
