1. Wearing black with blue

2. You can't wear gold and silver together

The two most widely used and known valuable metals are gold and silver. They are preferred as jewelry after diamonds. However, if you try to combine these two metals on your own, you may not be able to get the proper combination. For this, you need to go to a jewelry store and observe how cleverly both the metals are blended together. On a simpler note, you can simply mix gold and silver bangles to have a great look.

3. Horizontal stripes will make you look heavy

There is a myth that if you wear a top or t - shirt with horizontal stripes, you will look heavy, as these horizontal stripes tend to draw everyone's eyes across the body. Vertical stripes, on the other hand, make eyes roll up and down the body, thereby, making you appear tall and lean. In reality, it is not so. A recent experiment has proved that if you wear horizontal striped t-shirt, people will perceive you much thinner than you are.

4. Tall women should not wear high heels

There is a myth that tall women should not wear high heels as, these will not suit them. However, high heels not only to make you look tall, but also, make your legs look great. Nobody else will get uncomfortable till you are comfortable with high heels.

5. Never mix and match prints

There is a myth that you should never mix and match prints.. In reality, you will find many people attracting attention, only because they have mixed and matched different prints together, something like mixing stripes with paisleys and so on.

6. Sequins and Sparkle are only for evening wear

The myth is that sequins and sparkles should only be used as evening wear because people might think that you had not gone home last night. However, you can wear sequins and sparkle during daytime. You can also use a blazer or jacket to make it look better.

7. Short women should never wear long dresses

There is a myth that short women should never wear long dresses. In reality, however,it is not so. Though long dresses make you appear short, yet you will have a sophisticated look.

8. Never wear more than one bold color

There is a belief that you should not wear more than one bold color.If you see the vintage trend, you will find outfits having more than one bold color and they look great!

9. Always match your shoes with the belt or the purse

It is believed that you should always match the color of your shoes with your belt or purse. It is true that shoes, belts and purses are important accessories of an outfit, but it is also difficult to match them together. You will not buy a certain pair shoes only because they do not go with the color of your purse. The trick is that you need to find the color which can go well with the color of your accessory. For instance, putting a yellow with green color may not be the best match, but these two can go well together.

10. Never wear white after labor day

Another famous myth is that you should not wear white after the Labor Day. But why should we limit our color spectrum only because there is cold outside? Wear sweaters, coats or pants which are white, that can be readily acceptable. People think that light colors means light fabrics and that, they may be affected by cold. However, the fact is that only a light color does not absorb the atmospheric heat .

11. Showing skin is not sophisticated

It is believed that showing the skin is not considered to be sophisticated. However, it is not so. A perfect dress with perfect cut can do its work very well.

12. Never wear denim with denim

People say that you should never wear two denim pieces together. Nevertheless, you can definitely go for double denim, till the colors of the two pieces vary.

13. Do not wear light shoes with dark stockings

People believe that you should not wear light colored shoes with dark stockings. Sarah Jessica Parker, however, has debunked it. She matches her shoes with the necklace she wears.

14. Belts and baby bumps do not mix

It is believed that you cannot wear belts when you are pregnant. Well, if you are uncomfortable, then you should not. However, when Alba wore a belt while attending an event during her pregnancy, she proved that it is just a myth.
