Not all clothing are meant to be worn to look stylish. There are many outfits and trends which make you appear weird, so it is much better to stay away from them. Some of those outfits from which you need to maintain a distance are given below. Make sure that you are not wearing them even if they have entered your closet.

1. Crocs
We all agree that crocs are very comfortable and the way they cushion our feet is truly amazing. However, no one ever said that if something is comfortable, you can wear it anywhere, at least not these crocs. These dreamy plastic shoes looks attractive only if you are a 4-year-old preschooler. Some enthusiast will even claim that they are eco-friendly, but seriously dude, are you really in the favor of wearing leaves in place of your clothes just because they are much more eco-friendly than your synthetic clothes? So, it is better to leave these fancy and comfortable shoes for the kids.
2. Matching clothes
By matching clothes, we mean that one person's outfit matches someone else's outfit. These matching outfits really look cute on young kids, infants and toddler twins. But, it doesn't imply that even you should wear something which is identical to your spouse's outfit. If you are of the opinion that any such attempt is going to make you and your partner look cute, then you are certainly mistaken, the fact is that you'll look weird. So, if you have been in this habit, then it is time to rethink and overhaul your wardrobe. The key is to be yourself, and that is more than enough.
3. Battery outfits
The next clothing item from which you should refrain is anything that requires batteries. Now, if you are thinking that we are talking about those concept clothes which have been claimed to generate heat on their own, then you need to rethink because we are not going to comment on anything that hasn't been introduced in the market. By battery outfits, we mean those holiday sweatshirts and sweaters that light up. These battery outfits are in fact, the perfect item of clothing for an ugly holiday sweater party. Seriously, It is difficult to understand why people ever wear such things.
4. Trucker hats
The trucker hats used to be very popular in the 1970's and they made a major comeback in the early 2000's, the credit for bringing them back from the dead, goes to Ashton Kutcher. Some of the famous designers even launched a complete line of these truckers hats. These ill-fitting, mesh hats can cost you anything around $ 100 a piece or more. But the point is, are these mesh hats that don't even fit, worth 100 bucks? The answer is definitely a NO, especially not in this economy.
5. Ugg boots in summer
Ugg boots can be certainly claimed to be as anti-fashion, obviously they have no shape, flat soles and a rather bland design. Some people even say that these boots got their name from the phrase "ugly boots". Australian pilots used to wear these shoes to keep their feet warm and insulated, but they gained popularity in the early 2000's when Oprah Winfrey gave them away on her TV show. There is nothing wrong in wearing these boots in order to have your feet, warm and insulated. However, it definitely looks strange when someone wears them in 90-degree heat. If you are open to suggestions - do slip them in the closet and put on some comfortable gladiator sandals.
6. Mom Jeans
Mom jeans does not means the jeans which your mother wears, it is the name given to a certain type of jeans worn by a certain type of women who are out of touch with the latest fashion trends and culture. It is just a word that is coined to depict the way teen think of their parents. These jeans have a generous cut around the waist and have a very high waistband which makes your butt look huge. So, if you have one such pair of jeans in your closet, then it is time to get rid of them.
7. Very low waist jeans
Many people are of the opinion that low waist jeans are very trendy and look very attractive. Even we agree with them, but only up to the point when they don't ride too low on your hips. So, before you invest your bucks in any such pair, do ensure to check yourself in a three way mirror. This will give you a clear idea of how much your waist is showing around the back. These are not the jeans for you if your cotton briefs are in full view. In such case, all you need to do is to go up a size and you'll be perfect.
8. Outfits made of fur
If you are thinking that this is being advocated by some animal rights advocates, then you are probably mistaken. The fact is, if you are not living in Alaska, then fur is certainly not for you, especially in terms of fashion. There are a full range of winter clothing available out there in the market which look much more appealing than these outfits made from fur. Still, if you have a liking for these furs, then you can try those faux fur coats and trims. Besides being less bulky than original fur, they are also much cheaper.
9. Leggings as pants
We are not criticizing leggings, what we criticize is the trend of wearing leggings as pants because this is not what they are made for. You need to keep in mind the fact, that when you are wearing these leggings no one must be able to see your behind if you are standing up straight or even when you are bending over. They are meant to be worn with a dress or long shirt to make sure that your hips are covered, not simply like pants.
10. Jorts
If you are not aware of the terms jorts, then for your info - "jorts" is a short term used for "jeans short". These are definitely hot property right now and there is nothing wrong if you are thinking of having a pair for yourself. However, you need to be careful about where you make the cut with your scissors. You will definitely not like to wear jorts in which your pockets hang down below the frayed hem.
