The Avengers, as expected, has been just the light-hearted comic-book inspired blockbuster hit over the summer that parents wary of movies with too much sex and violence had been wishing for. The success of the movie of course was followed with a bunch of Avengers memorabilia including t-shirts, mugs and bumper stickers though nobody really thought that the eclectic bunch of superheroes from the movie would ever inspired fashionable evening gowns. But designer Kelsey Michele clearly saw something in the movie that the rest have failed to grasp which is why she gave the world these wonderful couture gowns inspired from the Avengers movie.
Michele showcased her concept sketches for the Avengers Gowns on her Deviant Art page which means that none of these dresses exist in reality at this point in time. The collection, for now, boasts of Hawkeye, Black Widow, Captain America, Thor, Hulk and Iron Man – inspired gowns with Nick Fury and Loki dresses down the pipeline. Perhaps we would see Gwyneth Paltrow and Scarlett Johansson walk down the red carpet wearing a version of these dressed at the premiere of the next Avengers movie. For now, the concept sketches might provide geeky brides with ideas for Avengers themed wedding/prom outfits.
