With an entirely contemporary freshness, the Donna Karen New York 2013 Runway collection gathered a mix of fashion genres in offbeat styles. Karen retained her epoch-making minimalist strain from the ‘90s and used a staple of athletic wear with street wear and basic tailored items. The collection was marked by sporty body-contoured outfits, fit ‘n’ flare number and boyishly slouched silhouettes which were used to set apart items like the jean jumpsuit, the Bermuda shorts in denim and the tee bodysuit.

Other notable items in the line were the skater dress, the maillot in a color-blocked pattern, the puffed ‘n pegged pants, the statement-making anoral and the slit prairie skirt. Mesh inserts, shirttail hems and thigh high slit detailing were used to fine tune each outfit while metallic foil and paint textures were the prominent patterns and prints in the range. The collection was accessorized with bowling bags, leather-trimmed caps and a fanny pack while the standard footwear that the models wore were stiletto sneakers.

The collection is designed with the busy urban dweller in mind and comes with clever pieces that go from a day look to stunning evening wear in a matter of minutes. The collection has something for everyone from the social butterfly to the dinner party addict, from the workout fanatic to the business savvy city gal and even the average city woman who likes to dress to the tee come rain or sunshine.
