Difficulty level
Easy
Time required
60-80 minutes
Resources required
1. Jeans
2. Scissors
3. Seam Ripper (optional)
4. Sewing Machine ( can be done manually with a needle and thread depending on your comfort with hand sewing)
Instructions
a. Open the seam
Lay the jeans flat and open the inseam up until the crotch. Then, pin the back portion together. This will form the back of the dress. Manage the material so as to avoid a flap near the crotch, you should have a flat surface.

b. Cut, cut, cut!
Once done, cut directly under the back pockets. Continue to do so, in a straight line, until you have removed the top of the jeans. You should be left with one piece of denim. Fold the top and pin. This will be stitched to give the dress a finished look.

c. The mighty needle puts all together
Now, sew across the pin placements. At the end of this, you should have a maxi skirt. For the arm holes, all you need to do is open the remaining seams to the extent of your requirement. To complete the part of the dress that falls on your shoulder, you would need to fold up the side panels and pin it. This will be sown shut, about 1.5 inches. Once sown your dress is ready to be wrapped. You can team it with a belt to add style quotient.

Quick tips
a. Pleats can be added to the back to shorten the width of the dress this would bring the armholes closer together giving a better fit, suited to your shoulder width.
b. With the men's jeans, one thing that you want to make sure of is that the jeans, once open, will wrap around you.
c. You can add pleats to lessen width as well as the look of the dress. The denim dress can carry the worn out gashed look (created using blades) if the plain denim wrap is too simple for your taste.
