At Styleguru, we strive to build a community friendly environment with a well-defined and transparent structure working at the backend. To ensure a good experience to all our contributors, it is essential to follow certain guidelines. The guidelines remain constant for all content posted or uploaded on Styleguru. Styleguru administrators shall have the sole discretion to take action for any behavior that fails to be justified within the defined premises or is deemed inappropriate. When registering with Styleguru, you agree to abide by the following content guidelines:
Though we recognize different cultures and languages associated with different communities, we also agree that English is largely the most common medium. For the same reason, we encourage our contributors to upload content in English only.
You may not post any content which you do not own or have permission to freely distribute. Do not include any content, image or media that bears a copyright, watermark or trademark.
You (or others using your account) may not post, transmit, promote, or distribute material (including software, photos, sounds, and written material) that is illegal or incites illegal activity. Any content that contains software viruses, “auto,” “macro” or “cheat utility” software programs, or any other computer code or files that are designed to disrupt, damage, or limit the functioning of any software or hardware will be deleted. The accounts will be identified and due action will be taken against them.
To maintain the decorum and the spirit of the community it is imperative of the members to NOT post any content which might be defamatory, slanderous, discriminatory, obscene, vulgar, pornographic, sexually explicit, harmful, invasive of a person or entity’s privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory, in violation of any applicable law or otherwise objectionable or insulting.
Take care to treat every member of the community with complete respect and dignity. Do not post any content that directly or indirectly harasses, threatens, embarrasses, or causes discomfort to another user or third party. Do not make insulting or offensive statements about race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, religion or religious figures, etc. We strongly discourage personal attacks, hate speech and harassment in any case.
Other than the aforementioned points, the following come under the purview of unacceptable behavior and would result in initiation of disciplinary action:
- Uploading of content which leads to promotion of the third party services, products, websites or organizations. Such content would constitute advertising; promotional messaging, junk mail, spam, pyramid schemes, chain letters, or any other form of unauthorized solicitation or commercial activity.
- Exchange of personal information on the site
- Creating multiple accounts
- Posting incorrect content
If you no longer wish to be a part of this community then you may send across a request to the administrator for account closure. Your account will be closed in due time and you will not be able to further correspond to any of your account activity. However, this will have no effect on your already uploaded content, which will remain visible to everyone as before.
All content posted on the portal incorporates the personal views of the contributor and is in no means controlled or endorsed by the company.As the community grows, Styleguru may designate certain members as Community Leaders or Moderators purely on the basis of participation. These moderators will have a significant role in approving and publishing of the content. However, such roles, if any, would not create an employee or agency relationship with the subject, nor does it imply that the company endorses his or her postings. Instead, the role will be helpful in the constructive advancement of the community and will be a positive inspiration for other members to emulate the same example. The team of administrators reserves the right to take steps or implement measures that will benefit the Styleguru community. This may include limiting the participants’ access to all or parts of the service and to edit or delete material that does not comply with the current guidelines. Styleguru is not responsible for any failure or delay in removing controversial content posted by any member of the community. Participants who persistently or willfully ignore the guidelines or violate the terms and conditions will have their posting privileges withdrawn and may also face ban from the community.
