Held at The Nokia Theatre, the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards saw television’s brightest stars show up at the red carpet in their finest dresses. The evening was not short on glamour though the time-honored LBD was sidelined in favor of brighter and bolder colors by the ladies that rule the television scene in the US. Fresh, elegant and well-fitted, the glamorous and sophisticated looks in brilliant shades made the varied assortment of gorgeous gowns look way more refreshing than the more conservative red carpet generally seen during the awards season.

The evening’s stunners were lead by Modern Family star Sofia Vergara who wore a form-fitting sequined Zuhair Murad gown in emerald green. The bold color worked wonderfully with the voluptuous star’s sun kissed skin and helped her achieve a distinct mermaid-esque look. The strappy number also featured revealing cuts places strategically to highlight the Latin star’s curves.
Next on the list of the best dressed stars of the night was former supermodel and TV host Heidi Klum. The newly single bombshell showed off her tantalizing pins and impeccable figure in a high slit couture chiffon gown. The sea foam green number by Alexander Vauthier came with a 1930s style draping and a delicious plunging neckline that helped the supermodel show off her best aspects. Claire Danes’ strapless yellow gown helped the starlet shine as she accepted the Emmy for Best Actress in a Drama Series. Not only did the Lanvin dress help the actress stand out on the red carpet, it also let her showcase new baby bump to perfection.
Sporting a fashion forward Pixie cut, actress Ginnifer Goodwin opted for a vintage-inspired tangerine gown by Monique Lhuiller that fit in perfectly with her storybook-inspired character on the show “Once Upon a Time”. Former model and ‘Top Chef’ host Padma Lakshmi declared that she wasn’t sure about the bright orange Monique Lhuiller she sported for the event but the risk seems to have paid off since she looked effortlessly elegant in the strapless number with a flaring fishtail skirt and simple bodice.
