The Apple Collection: A quirky clothing line by Apple dominated by the 80s fashion

Once upon a time, when iPad, iPhone and iPod had not knocked you off your feet Apple was busy designing something less exciting. If you might have always wondered from where Apple got that knack over styling gadgets in a way that becomes a fashion statement, then you are in for a pleasant surprise that makes a lot of sense. The electronic superpower, before venturing into the world of hi end gadgets, once dabbled in apparels and clothing as well.

Apple’s clothing line, named The Apple Collection, was created in the year 1986, which encompassed the traditional fashion that existed in the 80s. The clothing lines included polos, t-shirts, shorts, hats, sweat shirts, belts, jaunty sportswear and even kids clothes. Bright colors and bold prints ruled all the designs, which is unlike anything Steve Job was seen in every time he came to introduce a new gadget wearing jeans and a black turtleneck.

The clothes came emblazoned with a colorful Apple logo, which were rainbow shaded and very bright. The prices for the cheerful collection ranged from $15 to $47, which was as pricey as the gadgets by the brand we love to own and flaunt. Although, the collection might seem a bit funny when compared to styles that rule present times, but back then everyone was dressed like this. The clothing line was nothing like the sleek and elegant lines we see in the gadgets by Apple. But, if you are a diehard Apple fan, then owing one clothing item out of the collection will definitely get on the top list.
